A Call To Prayer For A Friend

Hello to all of Annette's bloggy friends!

This is Annette's husband, Steve. I'm writing this post because it's late, it's been a long day, and Annette is getting the kids off to bed.

The reason for this post is that we have a friend who is in need of the mighty prayers of all you warriors out there.

Annette's longest-running friend, Terri (they've been friends since age 5), was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and is going in for a double-mastectomy on Monday.

Here's Terri (left) and Annette (right) at San Clemente pier (in California) last Summer.

The cancer was very recently discovered, and is probably at stage I or II. The doctors will know better after surgery and testing.

Terri is the mother of 6 wonderful children, and the wife of Jeff, a great guy and a true craftsman. They live in Tennessee, about 10 minutes away from where Annette and Terri grew up. Jeff and Terri are deeply committed Christians, and are leaning heavily on Jesus right now.

The Baker and Cox clans!! Too many to name here! This was taken at Jeff and Terri's back in 2008.

Steve (left) and Jeff (right). Is that sign above my head just for me? No wonder they made me stand right there!

So, here's what we would ask of you, specifically: Pray for Terri's complete healing - either through a miraculous work of God alone, or through His guidance and direction of the medical process. For the surgery to go smoothly and accurately, and for all testing and any subsequent  treatment to be accurate and full of good news (There is a very real possibility that, because of the kind of cancer Terri may have, she won't need chemo or radiation therapy after the surgery - may this prove to be true!). For Jeff and their children as they help and support Terri (and each other) through this. For the ongoing help and support of friends and relatives both back in Tennessee, and all over the world. And lastly, for God's comfort, grace, peace and hope for Jeff, Terri and their children. This is a frightening time for them.

I thank you in advance - I know you will be holding up the Bakers in prayer. It means the world to Terri, Jeff, Annette and me.

God's blessings to you all,
Steve
