Here are a few samples of the beautiful work created by Solomon's family!

Sweet Solomon

Stacy and her family have a humongous heart for orphans
and are always searching for ways to help bring precious children home to their forever families.
They prayed and advocated for several months for our sweet Kaden to find a family.
Since Solomon and Kaden are best friends,
their greatest desire was that the boys would someday be reunited
and have the chance to grow up together.
God answered that prayer when he placed it on our hearts
to bring Kaden home to be part of our family!

Thanks Stacy for the blessing that you and your amazing family are to us!!
We will forever be grateful to you for helping us to find our precious treasure!

Update on Terri

Steve here again!

I just wanted to post a quick update on Annette's friend Terri.

The surgery was yesterday, Monday, and everything went extremely well. Yay!

I spoke to Terri's husband Jeff last night, and he said that the surgery was scheduled to last 4 hours, and it went so smoothly that it only lasted 2-1/2 hours. Also, Terri's post-surgery recovery has gone very very well. And, as an added bonus, all six of their children are spread out among friends and relatives, so that Jeff is able to stay with Terri full-time until she is released from the hospital (in 2-3 more days).

Jeff and Terri happy and cold at San Clemente when they came out to visit

Jeff, Terri, and Annette and I thank you so much for your prayers of care, hope and healing - the Bakers are indebted to you all.

The next step is the testing to determine how the surgery went, and what next steps may need to be taken. Again, our hope and prayer is that this surgery took care of everything, and there will be no chemo or radiation needed.

We will keep you updated on this, and ask for your continued prayers.

Thank you, and God bless you all.

-Steve

A Call To Prayer For A Friend

Hello to all of Annette's bloggy friends!

This is Annette's husband, Steve. I'm writing this post because it's late, it's been a long day, and Annette is getting the kids off to bed.

The reason for this post is that we have a friend who is in need of the mighty prayers of all you warriors out there.

Annette's longest-running friend, Terri (they've been friends since age 5), was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and is going in for a double-mastectomy on Monday.

Here's Terri (left) and Annette (right) at San Clemente pier (in California) last Summer.

The cancer was very recently discovered, and is probably at stage I or II. The doctors will know better after surgery and testing.

Terri is the mother of 6 wonderful children, and the wife of Jeff, a great guy and a true craftsman. They live in Tennessee, about 10 minutes away from where Annette and Terri grew up. Jeff and Terri are deeply committed Christians, and are leaning heavily on Jesus right now.

The Baker and Cox clans!! Too many to name here! This was taken at Jeff and Terri's back in 2008.

Steve (left) and Jeff (right). Is that sign above my head just for me? No wonder they made me stand right there!

So, here's what we would ask of you, specifically: Pray for Terri's complete healing - either through a miraculous work of God alone, or through His guidance and direction of the medical process. For the surgery to go smoothly and accurately, and for all testing and any subsequent  treatment to be accurate and full of good news (There is a very real possibility that, because of the kind of cancer Terri may have, she won't need chemo or radiation therapy after the surgery - may this prove to be true!). For Jeff and their children as they help and support Terri (and each other) through this. For the ongoing help and support of friends and relatives both back in Tennessee, and all over the world. And lastly, for God's comfort, grace, peace and hope for Jeff, Terri and their children. This is a frightening time for them.

I thank you in advance - I know you will be holding up the Bakers in prayer. It means the world to Terri, Jeff, Annette and me.

God's blessings to you all,
Steve

Scentsy Fundraiser

We were first introduced to the Scentsy product line a year or two ago when visiting our friend Patrick who lives in Meridian, Idaho. He had one of the warmers in his home and it smelled so wonderful!

Well, about 2 months ago I had the wonderful priviledge of meeting a really sweet gal, Liz Hogue, when we were both vendors at a Christmas boutique. She is a Scentsy representative and I was finally able to purchase our first warmer from her. Our house has never smelled so good!! Thank you, Liz!

The story of our sweet Kaden touched Liz's heart and she wanted to be able to help us raise some of the funds that we need for our adoption. She has generously offered to donate 20% of sales for Kaden to his adoption fund.

If you are interested in purchasing any Scensty product, please click on Liz's Scentsy website or click on the catalog above. Once you are on her website, on the left hand side, she has a link to open parties. Scroll down to Kaden Adoption Fundraiser, and click on "buy from party", which will allow you to begin shopping. Liz is graciously keeping our fundraiser open until we raise all of the funds that are needed to bring Kaden home.

(For those of you that are unfamiliar with Scentsy, their candles are a safe, wickless, alternative to scented candles. Their warmers melt scented wax with the heat of a light bulb instead of a traditional wick and flame.)

Thank you Liz for helping us to bring Kaden home!! Thanks also in advance to everyone who purchases any Scentsy product and for helping to spread the word about our fundraiser!

Jordan's Birthday

Happy 6th Birthday, Jordan!

The day you were born was such an exciting time for all of us! Your big brothers were so thrilled to have another baby in the house and couldn't wait to get to the hospital to hold you!

Mommy's friend Debbie, who is the best L&D nurse on the planet, had arranged her schedule so that she  would be there to take care of you and me. She was so amazing and it was great fun having her there with us! We were spoiled for sure!

Having 4 boys has been a wonderful adventure!

Our home is full of laughter and fun, and there is never a dull moment!
I think that Kaden is going to love it here!
From what Stacy has told us, he will fit in perfect with all the energy and craziness!

You are fun-loving, witty, spontaneous, creative, and down right adorable!

I love how God has gifted you with the ability to create and sing such beautiful songs!
Each day is a joy and a new adventure with you!

We love you so much precious man!
Happy Birthday!

Home Study Complete and in Our Hands!!

After much praying and waiting, we finally have our notarized copies of our home study in our hands!!!
Thank you everyone for all your prayers!

The boys and I were at science class and Taekwondo all day today, so my wonderful husband was able to stop by our home study agency to pick up our copies and head to FedEx to get our i800a application sent to our main agency. They will double check our application tomorrow, attach any necessary documents that they have and get our i800a sent off to USCIS to arrive on Thursday!

The turnaround time seems to be about one month with immigration.
Please pray that everything goes smoothly, that we don't have any setbacks with immigration, and that our application is processed in record time.
Thanks again for your prayers! We'll keep you posted.

Waiting....

It's been 3 weeks today since we had our Department Of Justice fingerprints redone and we still have not received approval. The DOJ has a 24 hour automated number to call to check on the status of things and the only information that they will give us at this time is that our prints are "still in process". Needless to say this is a bit frustrating!! Had our prints been processed the first time, we would be really close by now to receiving our i800a approval from US immigration, which takes about a month. But, our i800a cannot be sent to immigration until our approval from the DOJ is sent to our home study agency so our agency can sign off on our home study.

Please pray that our DOJ approvals will arrive soon and that the time that we have lost waiting for this approval can be made up somewhere else along the way. We really want to bring our precious son as soon as possible! Thanks so much for your prayers for our family! We love and appreciate all of you!
